magical mystery tour?
Mar. 4th, 2011 10:12 am![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
So as seen in this post here, Paige is magically trying to track Slenderman and the missing kids. In the middle of the night she was orbing around whenever she thought she had a track on the guy, but he is clearly too quick for her.
She may continue to do this. If anyone wants her to arrive with a second to spare and see yours go missing or whatever, let me know. She may also appear in future open "disappearance" posts after the fact. She's just...you know. Getting everywhere late. Or if you don't want her anywhere near your post, say so as well.
She's just doing her thing, trying to save people.

...Yes, ladies and gentlemen, your eyes do not deceive you -- this is, indeed, Guts of Berserk, once more brought back by your resident Prince. I... I missed him... like a truck...
However! He is from a drastically different canon point this time around...!
Guts is coming at you 9 years old, tiny, and still somehow gar I don't even. In case you don't know what this means, he's an orphaned kiddo being raised by a group of mercenaries who picked him up as a baby. He's had a rough life and this place will be like HEAVEN TO HIM HOLY SHIT GUYS. He may or may not accuse your wiminz of being prostitutes WHY DO YOU DRESS THAT WAY... and may be a bit standoffish and wary at first, but he's a sekrit woobie who wants to be loved. (Just like his adult self, just... you know. Less likely to shank you for suggesting as much. ...Slightly.)
His loss is his memories of his mother-figure, Shizu. He knows her name and that she existed -- but he can't remember anything else about her. Sadface. ;( ONE DAY, HE SHALL BE CANON BUMPED when I have more time to harass his CR and get his manly self involved in plots properly! But this will have to tide me over til that day arrives. /SALUTES...
PERHAPS THIS IS HIS ONE REAL CHANCE AT BEING HAPPY EVER LMAO be gentle, Paradisa. /ignores fact is introing in the middle of Slenderman sheningans PRETEND I DIDN'T JUST POST THIS TO THE WRONG COMM

Heya, kiddos, Pi here.
So, I hate to have to do this, and it breaks my heart to write this post again, but seeing as the February crunch essentially swiped me off the face of the Internet, it's time for me to eat crow and admit that this semester isn't the cakewalk I thought it was going to be. The fact that I couldn't even make time for SLENDERMAN is a bad sign (because, seriously, how awesome, oh my god.)
I love playing here, and I especially loved playing Lily here (Ang, you are beautiful, and all her CR was incredible), but I barely had the time to keep things going before, and I certainly don't have it now. As much as I really rather not, I've got to bow out.
I'll just continue loving the crap out of all you guys from a distance and stalking the hell out of everything you do. Shine on, you crazy diamonds. ♥♥♥

slowatus type thing

Welp. As of last night, (er... 5 this morning, really.) I apparently have the stomach flu. I'm not dropping off the face of the Earth, but I am hugging the toilet in-between tags, so if they're a little slow in coming, that'd be why.
This'll probably last until Sunday at the least, but if I'm better by Sunday, it'll be a slowatus until Thursday, March 10 as I will be in Minnesota from the 6th to the 10th for spring break with my Scoobies. (I would call a full hiatus, but I know that. I'll probably be tagging from my phone if I end up without internet. I WISH I COULD QUIT YOU, except not really. I love you guys.)
Also, gmail flipped out on me, and I know there's tags from before Splendaman (and some plot tags, too) that I still owe, but I have no idea where they are any more. So if anyone still wants to keep those going, would you mind dropping me a link somewhere?
TL;DR BOOBS' IMMUNE SYSTEM SUCKS SO SHE'S MOVING SLOWLY AND SHE ALSO LIKES TO ABUSE PARENTHESES

PLOTTING: let's put together how this ends.
So far, a few things have been discovered IC that are especially noteworthy:
1.) Cameras capture his image.
2.) Holy power does very minor damage to the Blood Tree.
3.) The saplings in the woods are tied to getting rid of him.
There's also a noteworthy post I wanted to bring up that ties in to a lot of the evidence about Slenderman:
"If enough people believe something is true, if enough people will something to be true, it is."
http://community.livejournal.com/paradisa/12792428.html
One of the things I wanted to ground this plot on was the power of story; in the blurb about the plot/intro, it specifically talks about stories told to scare children (and adults, who were children, once) into line. One of the hallmarks of all of these child-snatching characters is that people tell these stories with such vivacity and honesty and intent-to-scare that people believe in them. Slenderman himself is a product of this –– he was first created by a bunch of goons on the SomethingAwful forums, and stories about him have travelled so fast that people often confuse him for a "real" mythological creature, or are even scared of something that doesn't tangibly exist! Characters have been reading stories this week, about Slenderman, about how others have coped in the past, and how to get rid of him.
Now, that isn't to say that the Slenderman in Paradisa isn't real and is just a "figment of their imaginations", but some power is given. It's been shown in revealed evidence already that Slenderman is a part of a mythos of child-snatchers, and that he seeks identity, one he gains from attention and from stealing others –– he can certainly draw on this fear and turn it into his own power.
How does belief and attitude make things happen? Characters are adamant about getting their kids back in one piece, and if they want that, so it'll be done, some way, somehow! It might not be without heartache, but these characters are some of the most badass people in the universe: they get through a lot of stuff that most people would just roll over and suffer under. They're resilient as all hell. They'll get those damn kids back regardless of what any selfish creature has to think about it.
So, with that in mind, we now have the task of building the end of Slenderman's story together. I have some ideas (obviously) and I can guarantee you it will end with the children being pulled into the loving, safe arms of their friends and family, but the area between point A and B is flexible. I want characters to be able to move between those points without being completely guided by the plot.
Since characters seem to be moving away from sacrifice, what kind of exorcism could be performed, either ritually or spiritually?
What ideas do characters have right now? Could they be expanded on and run with, and turned into a final-showdown for Sunday?
Confirmed feasible ideas so far:
Absolutely without a doubt has to happen:

Confirmed feasible ideas so far:
- Blessed flamethrowers. Some way, somehow, this will happen.
- Getting the kids back before doing any exorcism. This would weaken Slenderman (less fear for something you just one-up'd) and give them an opening to do the exorcism:
- SUB POINT: There will be evidence tomorrow to suggest "breaking in" is possible.
- SUB POINT: There will be evidence tomorrow to suggest "breaking in" is possible.
- Using camcorders to see where Slenderman is. Vain dude likes being immortalized on film!
- Age-Up potions for remaining kids -- could "hide" them from Slenderman
- Age-Down potions for some adults -- could possibly get taken and help somehow that way.
- SUB POINT: Not unrealistic to try, but risky: Slendy may not fall for it, might end up mentally-a-child, which isn't useful.
- SUB POINT: Not unrealistic to try, but risky: Slendy may not fall for it, might end up mentally-a-child, which isn't useful.
- Sending information with Dave (age 13), who is going to try to get kidnapped.
Absolutely without a doubt has to happen:
- "We Fucked The Fucker" Party, Part II. For those who weren't here with us, last time we had a taxing plot involving like... over a dozen people getting murdered (!Mass Murder Plot, if you care), two weeks of stress was ended with Travis Touchdown throwing a crazy party at his bar. Optional, obviously, but a lot of characters found getting drunk and just celebrating a good way to get over the horror. If you want to see what it looked like, there's post one and post two.
