shake it, shake it, shh you got to--

It's time to shake things up around here. Literally! Something rather unexpected will happen, and some may see the clues before others.

Something will fall from the sky. If one happens to notice it, the naked eye will be able to tell that, despite the great distance, it's something large. It's easy to miss if you aren't paying attention, but if you do catch a glimpse of it before it disappears from sight, it will certainly help explain what happens next.

An earthquake will rock Paradisa and the City Royale, as well as the surrounding areas. While the castle itself is sturdy enough to withstand a tremor of such magnitude, it certainly won't be left unharmed. Books may fall from bookshelves, glasses from tables, pictures from walls. There may be hairline cracks, but nothing the castle itself can't repair on its own.

The same cannot be said for the city. City Royale will experience the brunt of the quake. Many buildings will take heavy damage, and a crack in the ground will appear outside the town border. The townspeople will most definitely need a hand in recovering from this incident.

There will be a mass post for reactions at several locations for all to tag into. Damage to resident-owned businesses and houses will be left up to players' discretions. The event will take place in the late-afternoon/evening (appx. 3pm pst).

If you have any questions at all, feel free to ask.

It's falling much like that one final scene from Cloverfield, so if you're not really thinking of it, you'll miss it.

However, if you're scoping the skies for whatever reason, you'll catch it falling somewhere in the very distant northeast...

What time of day is this happening?

Both the "thing in the sky" and the quake.

How much danger am I allowed to put Katniss in, aka she currently lives at the shooting range and how close is that to where the thing is falling?

About as much danger as a regular quake, the thing coming down is quite a long distance away from the castle and the surrounding area.

Is the crack big enough for someone to fall in? And is it safe to do so?

It's definitely big enough to fall into! I'd say it's maybe twenty-ish feet deep around the places with the most residential traffic, so someone would definitely break something if they were to fall in.

I've never outlined it, but Gren works at a bar in town, but it's townsperson owned (technically so is his apartment). Any guideline for that, or I am free to adjudicate as I like?

About how bad is the earthquake at the outpost? Given that it's like 100 miles away from the castle, but obvsly this thing is pretty big.
