CR Building Idea
This is what happens when you have a bored conman trapped in a magical castle. He decides to start games to keep himself amused. Here’s the game:
You’re given a name, and a word. It’s your job to track that person down, and get them to say that word. If they do, they’re “dead” and you inherit their person and word. The game keeps progressing until there’s one person left, and that person is the winner.
Here’s how it’ll work:
IC:
Neal will have a journal entry sometime this week to gauge interest, and see if anyone wants to play his game, and take the names of who would like to be involved. On March 1st, he will get everyone to meet him in the lobby where he will have two hats—one with the names of the players, and one with a bunch of random words for the players to choose from. Each player will select one of each, and then the game begins.
Each player is required to find their mark in the castle, and get them to say the word they drew, without actually saying the world themselves. When they do, they receive that person’s mark and word, and the now “dead” player who is out of the game should report back to Neal and let him know that they’re out. Then the game continues until there is only one person left.
ICly, Neal will not know who has who. He will have a list of people involved, but not keep track of who pulled what person because he doesn’t want to know who has him—that’s cheating. if there is any confusion OOCly, I will have a list of who has who, so you can always check back with me with regards to who has who and what their word is. Also, most of the checking in with Neal will be handwaved, and not need to be done ICly, just to keep things going smoothly.
OOC:
1. You can sign up either ICly with Neal, or OOCly with me if you want your character to be part of it. You have until 11:59 EST on February 29th to sign up your character. EDIT: There is a limit of one character per mun, to avoid muncest in the event that you wind up with yourself as a mark.
2. On March 1st, I will send out PMs with your assignment and with your word. I will be using a RNG, and a Random Word Generator for assignments, to try and keep it as much like they pulled names out of a hat as possible. The actually pulling things out of a hat will be handwaved, and once you receive your assignment, your free to begin the game.
3. I will be keeping a spreadsheet with all the assignments on it. When you’ve played out your thread with your character “killing” the other, either PMalias_savant or IM me @ iluvroadrunner6 with the link to the thread, and I will make a note on the spreadsheet—this will count for getting in touch with Neal ICly. I will then PM/IM you back with your new mark and word.
4. The point of the game is to generate some new CR, to have your character talk to people they wouldn’t normally talk to. Finding their word on a journal post without prompting from your character does not count as a kill—there should be a thread to go with it. To that point, however, if you’re going to enter your character in the game, try to make an open journal post or log so that the character that has yours as a “mark” can actually try to play the game—it’s not fun for everyone if you shut them out and don’t give them the opportunity.
The game will run starting March 1st, until everyone is out. You’re welcome to take as long as you like ICly—I know things get busy, but try to keep it as close to real time as possible. Also, if it’s easier for you guys, I am on plurk as well, so you can always private plurk me.
Questions? Comments? Think this is a lame idea? This is more to gauge interest than anything else, and if there’s a fair amount of people who want to play, then I’ll have Neal make that IC post. If not, it was an idea. Feel free to drop a comment here and let me know.

So to go with the example from my spreadsheet, if Sam had Neal, and he needed to get him to say toss, he can hint at the word, and try and manipulate the subject so that Neal could think to use that word on his own, but he can't say "toss" himself.

Kind of excited :3

I'll add her to my list. Hopefully we'll get enough people to play that this will actually work.

Either way, I'm in with Violet here.

I'll think on it some more and see, but generally the "assassin" would be making an effort to get the mark to actually say the word, so I don't think that ICly the character wouldn't make a point to tell the mark that they were out.
